Today (the 29th) is my 26th birthday. Yay me! I love birthdays- I see them as a chance to be completely self-centered and do exactly what you want to do.
Well, that wasn’t exactly what I did. My day consisted of running errands, including bringing Chloe Kitten to the vet. No one left the exam room bloody, so I consider the visit a success. I also had a great dinner with my family, which was exactly what I wanted to do.
I also wanted to dress up and wear something nice, despite the weather being in the negatives and the wind being so cold and brisk that it was tough to breathe. So I compromised and wore something sparkly with jeans, not a skirt, and avoided frostbite.

So you wanna know what I learned in my first quarter-century on earth?
I learned that fortune favors the bold. I learned that everyone is a little lonely. I learned that smart, funny guys are a better catch than tough, muscled guys. I learned that common sense is incredibly rare, but kindness can be found in nearly everyone. I learned that animals can be human’s best friend, and that I will always love horror movies. I learned to love some of the things I hated about myself, and I’m working on the rest. I learned that people leave this earth before their time and it really never stops hurting. And I learned that blogging is a damn fine way to keep myself entertained and meet some pretty awesome chicks.
