We think you’re a joke shove your hope where it don’t shine

Finally debuting my Sam Edelman Zoe boots. I realize at this point they are so ubiquitous that if someone were to put together a fashion blogger welcome package they would be the first item in the bag, along with a pair of wayfarers, denim shorts, and ripped black tights. But I’ve admired them for years and managed to snag them on sale and I will wear them without irony. Well, maybe with an ironic smirk.

I got more than a few stares in them, which I expected. Most women in Boston wear heels that are work appropriate and under 5″. These boots don’t exactly fit that criteria. I held my head high and strutted through town, feeling like a 5’11″ glamazon. Until I stumbled and nearly broke my ankle. Ah, good times.

I am declaring this weekend “internetz free.” My mind feels like a rubber band about to snap from constant over-stimulation. Last night, I parked on my couch and spent hours clicking onto random websites, barely paying attention to what I was seeing. Falling asleep was even more of a shit show. So I’m unplugging my laptop and hiding it and the end of the night and it’s not coming back on until Sunday night. Should be awesome. I wonder if I’ll get the computer-geek equivalent of the crackhead shake? (if unfamiliar, youtube Dave Chappelle. trust me.)

There are a few more pictures than normal- I wanted to show off my bracelets and I finally got enough light to show my blue highlights a bit better.

I’m a streetwalking cheetah with a heart full of napalm

Years ago, I bought a t-shirt from Wet Seal (remember that place? I worked there for years. embarrassing fact #1) that had the words Search and Destroy emblazoned on the front in silver. The skinny hipster (before it really caught on) in my English class asked if I was a fan of the song. He was pretty cute, despite the unwashed hair, so I said “Oh yeah, it’s awesome.” I had no idea what he was talking about. I finally heard the song last year and I was right- it is awesome. Anyway…

My outfit today isn’t especially Iggy Pop-esque. And my jeans are too tight. All my jeans are a little too tight these days. But it’s okay- I was tired of eating food anyway.

You didn’t have to do it, but you did it to say

Well, you’ll definitely not get any complaints out of me. It’s fucking gorgeous out. The kind of day that makes you forget about every snow fall and frozen noses.

I spent the morning jogging along the Charles River, then walking around newbury street before grabbing lunch (outside of course). There was a quick detour to the Boston Public Library. The courtyard in the middle is the second most peaceful place in Boston. The first? The butterfly room at the Museum of Science. It was the perfect place to stop and grab some photos.

I bought this dress online and of course, sized up a bit too much. It’s just loose enough in the waist to look sloppy, not casual. My quick fix? Pinching the middle together and pinning it. It’s a great trick to make something fit better and adding some visual interest.

I couldn’t resist taking a photo of this guy and his dog. They are quite a pair, huh?

As for the rest of day? Breakdancing class. I kid you not. Every inch of me aches!

In a time of chipmanzees I was a monkey

Nothing like listening to tracks from the nineties while at work. Now that the weather is nice, I have nothing to complain about, and therefore, nothing to write about. So, uh, here are some outfits!

oh yeah, I put blue streaks in my hair. It’s pretty subtle, but makes me feel bad-ass and I already want to add more!

Part one: pretty shirt. feels like spring. except for the goosebumps on my arms.

Part two: despite my animal print, I am truly a delicate flower.

I can say I hope it will be worth what I give up

Life and work have once again managed to collide to keep me from blogging for longer than I would like. On the plus side, I’ve actually been out and about and having fun. There might be a cute boy involved. There is definitely lobster mac and cheese involved.

I’ve also been digging up old shoes from under my bed and celebrating the warmer weather. Is anyone else a little scared/shocked when you see all of your shoes in one place?

Who me?

About a month ago, I got a fabulous message in my inbox from Tamia, the editor of Style Sample magazine. Style Sample is a magazine that is by bloggers, for bloggers. It feels pretty awesome to be included-as a blog to watch, no less! Thank you, Tamia, for including me!

I’m on page 10!

Also, check out page 29 for another awesome Boston-based blogger, Lei Ann. She is not only very well dressed, she’s a sweetheart!
