When I wore this dress, I imagined people are looking at me and thinking that long dresses are so high-maintenance and so dressy for a Sunday. I find long dresses to be the simplest thing to wear when it’s warm. They’re cooler than shorts and a t-shirt and classier than a teeny dress. And sometimes Sunday needs a little drama- especially in the form of a dress flowing behind you while you walk.

ClandestineChic is on of my favorite bloggers for her throughtful posts about style, hair care, and pretty much everything else under the sun. Annnnd, she’s doing a great giveaway. For this awesome dress:

I want to copy this entire outfit. Enter here, and good luck! (But not too much good luck, cause well, I’m greedy).

I saw this outfit on the Briannelee and loved all the jewelry she piled on. I also loved her inspiration for the outfit- the glamourai, who everyone should visit for inspiration. Her ability to pair patterns and colors and layers is just far out.
So in turn, after Briannelee was inspired by the glamourai, I was inspired by her and threw on a ton of necklaces. They totally made the outfit!

I bought this dress at least a month ago, and I saved it for today. Why? It was a big day at work with an important meeting and I wanted to dress for the occasion. So after saving this dress for so long, imagine my disappointment at not receiving any comments on the dress! I mean, really! Lack of validation notwithstanding, I felt lovely in it. It swung around my legs in the wind and makes my shoulders look nice and broad.

I went to the beach on Saturday (Good Harbor on Gloucester). It was the most perfect beach day you could ever imagine. I had to take a few photos.

I’m amazed by how short I look in this picture.
This is a very old outfit- it’s been way too hot lately for real clothes. I freakin love it.

And this is my alien-head hairdo. I’m still not sure if I like it.

create images as beautiful as these. Putting aside the fact that Eva Mendes is shockingly beautiful, these photographs do an incredible job of creating a mood and a story. Maybe I should start saving up for a studio? And um… photography lessons?

I think most people assume that fashion bloggers (at least the successful ones) look fantastic even on the days they don’t share their outfit on the interwebz. But I don’t and sometimes it makes me wonder if I should be blogging. Cause, I don’t consider myself that stylish.
Style is innate. People say a stylish woman can look incredible in a white t-shirt and jeans, but I say she would never wear just a white t-shirt and jeans. Whether she’s added a load of jewelry or flashy shoes, she is able to convey her personality through her sartorial choices. It happens naturally and (I assume) it happens nearly every time she gets dressed.
I don’t post every single outfit I wear on my blog. And truthfully, when I want to do an outfit post I try to dress up. I aim to impress, ladies. And the days I don’t post? I’m likely in a basic top, cardigan, and skinny jeans. I look like every other woman out there. So in confessing this, I ask- what makes a person stylish? Is having style about dressing up every day?

When I wore this skirt on Monday, I tweeted that it was “Serena van der Woodsen” tight. Which basically means, if it wasn’t ruched you’d be able to see my uterus. Yay for ruching! I think it’s actually a nice alternative to a regular pencil skirt for work and the button-down shirt tones it down. The shoes are my new wear-with-everything black flats. They have a Loeffler Randall vibe to them, yes?

PS- I got my hand vacuum that I mentioned in my last post. This is the happiest I’ve ever been in my adult life. It scares the kitties (always entertaining) but ohmigod the thing sucks up everything. If you want to know the brand, tell me in the comments and I’ll pass along the info!
PPS- I added a few new items to the store, check check check it out!

It’s not often that my tattoos are seen on here. The one on my neck has been documented but I also have a small one on my hip and another on my lower back. I love tattoos. Which is why Tattoologist has captured my attention. It’s a photoblog of kickass tattoos. So great for inspiration. And if you care, my thoughts on tattoos.
1) They don’t have to mean shit.
2) They really are addictive. I’m thinking hard on getting a fourth.
3) Women can look beautiful with big tattoos.
4) They represent a moment in life. It doesn’t have to be a big moment, but seeing that tattoo will always remind you of who you were and how far you’ve come.
My ex-boyfriend paid for the tattoo on my neck as a birthday gift two years ago. Do I hate it because we aren’t together anymore? No. It makes me think of who I was then and who I am becoming.
My favorites that I’ve seen on the site:

These photos are from Sunday. Bet you couldn’t figure that out! I spent most of Saturday moping and when I woke up to the sun shining on Sunday, I was filled with energy. I hit SoWa market again, and even though I had less luck finding goodies I did score an italian ice, so the whole endeavor was a success. Afterwards, I bought a cute small umbrella from the Marc Jacobs store. Considering all the rain we’ve seen and my aptitude for getting caught in said rain without any sort of protection… this was the second best purchase of the weekend. The first? A handheld vacuum. Seriously, I live with two cats and a white rug. I could buy a private jet made of gold tomorrow and I’d still consider the handvac to be my best purchase of the year.
On to the fashion. Part of my moping on Saturday stemmed for trying on a bajillion pairs of shorts and deeming them all tiny pieces of masochistic hell. So on Sunday I pulled out my no-fail shorts- loose, with a longer inseam and flared leg and I felt good again.

The goods from the SoWa market?
