So, What’s it Made of?

Obsession is a true art. What began around 11am as a quick look into expanding my header and navigation bar to a full width turned into a 8 hour project involving new widgets, fonts, color palettes, custom css (and the various site crashes that resulted), and oh yeah, a new header. I’m pretty happy with what’s going on now, and I’m going to try really hard not tweak the blog for a while. My time would be much better spent finding a decent corner of the house to take outfit pictures in!

I wore this outfit Friday night to a friend’s casual dinner party. Well, I wore this to work too. Gotta love casual Fridays! This sweater, from Mikkat Market, is the softest piece of clothing I’ve ever touched. My friends took multiple occasions throughout the night to “pet” me and one said I reminded him of a sexy ewok. I can’t think of a higher compliment, can you?

I also wore two horsehair necklaces made by Holly. I assumed most people would find the necklaces a bit odd (at best) or disturbing (at worst). But everyone loved them! So, if you’re getting tired of big baubles, neon colors, and heavy metals, try out horsehair jewelry.

I had some fun painting my nails in a half-grey, half-silver pattern. Very easy and it looks cool as hell in the light! I used Essie Cocktail Bling for the grey and Orlu Shine for the silver.

Sweater – Mikkat Market
Jeans – Lands End Canvas
Boots – Steve Madden
Necklaces – Covetous Creatures

So, what is the sweater made of? Damned if I know.

The necklaces look so good on you! Also, Greg and I picked up a blanket at Marshall’s of a similar unknown material. The color of ours is unfortunate, but it is so damn soft. I was just joking the other day that we should buy another and have it made into sweaters, robes, perhaps a full suit…

You always make me crack up whenever I read your posts!! The tweaks to the blog look great and I think the stairs are a great new spot for outfits posts. Damned if I ever find a better spot in my tiny place, trust me I try! The boots rock and the necklaces are the bomb.com. Great job Holly!

I must say, I really like those horse hair necklaces!! Way to go Holly! And your nails are pretty delightful, too. I noticed the new look, and I love the font you picked!

I wish I had a staircase in my house so I could lounge like that. Effortlessly chic!
