I got this dress at H&M about a month or so ago and I’m surprised I haven’t seen it making the rounds on other blogs. Am I the only one who thinks it’s totally awesome? Also, I’m finally acknowledging my obsession with button-down shirts recently. Whenever I have a doubt about what to wear, I grab a button down shirt. They’re more casual than blazers, although not as warm. Hence, my sitting in the office with a giant fleece blanket wrapped around me.

Dear Boston,
You’re way too aggressive for me on this Monday. No need to shove me out of the way to get to the train platform when the train isn’t there yet. No need to rush around like headless chickens just to get to work. Chill the fuck out. xo, me.
This weekend I was talking to a friend, saying that I have some really nice new clothes that I’m saving for the right occasion. I hate that idea- I’ve always felt that if I like it enough to buy it, I should just wear it when I want to. So I made a deal with myself. No shopping until I wear all the new stuff sitting in my closet that’s been unloved yet. Watch out, clothes. I’m gonna get my lovin’ all over you (eww).
I’m starting with this Celine jacket I got from a clothing swap back in the fall. Yes, I said Celine! Gotta love those clothing swaps!

Time for a proper Day of the Cat entry…
Ever since I moved into my parents home in the suburbs, the cats have been especially keen about getting outside. I guess birds and chipmunks are more appealing to them than hobos and rats. I’ve been taking my sweet time trying to figure out if it’s really safe for the cats, but Calliope decided to let me know this weekend she’s a big girl cat.
After spending a rainy Saturday chasing down Calliope every time she escaped, I gave up and let her stay outside. She returned, unmarked and obviously thrilled that she had gotten her way. So on Sunday, I let her and Chloe explore outside.
Calliope’s real interest in going outside? A new food source.
And after a long day exploring, they both collapsed on my bed looking as adorable as can be.

Ok, Chloe cat didn’t really say that, I did. But seriously? Snow- STOP IT! Now that I’ve gotten that out, please join me for another Day of the Cat. These are some older photos of Chloe, who has been extremely photo-shy these days.
Looking at these and remembering all the other photos I’ve taken of her in costume, I get her desire to run and hide when she sees me with a camera these days.
