In all honesty, this is hardly my most creative outfit. But I got a new tripod and had to test it out. It’s lovely, by the way. No longer are my photos so badly tilted it looks like I took them while hopping on one foot.

The Cold is Coming…

The past few days, there has been a light layer of frost on the rear windshield of the car. Meaning, the nights are getting cooler and it’s taking longer for the days to get warmer. Summer is definitely slowing down. I’ve spent so much of the summer working (even on the weekends) that I only made it to the beach once. I didn’t even get to Fenway Park! Summer, you’re always too short for me.

I wore this on Tuesday. When I woke up it was raining, so I put on my rain boots and headed into town. By noon, the rainclouds had disappeared and the weather was perfect. So I ended up looking ridiculous in my rain boots with absolutely no rain falling. I have to admit though, I feel freaking adorable in my rain boots and didn’t really mind the odd looks. I’m also rocking my mithril.

I know a place where no cars go

After Arcade Fire won the Grammy this year, someone created a tumblr with all the tweets from people who had never heard of them who were outraged that Justin Bieber hadn’t won. My favorite comments were the ones asking “Who’s The Suburbs and why did some stupid album called Arcade Fire win?” I only bring this up because I recently created an Arcade Fire station on Pandora and I’ve been enjoying the mix quite a bit.

So… yellow tights. I got a ton of crazy looks yesterday when I wore this outfit. People in Boston act like they’ve never seen a grown woman dress like a British schoolgirl before.

You bought yourself a second chance, go baby go baby go

Did a little weekend shopping. nothing fancy (except my super awesome NARS foundation). Did a little weekend drinking. Celebrated my best friend getting engaged and getting a beautiful ring from her fiance. Did a little cat-cuddling, but really that happens every weekend. Made my favorite soup, a variety on avgolemono, and ate so much I got a stomach ache. Likely to make a second pot of it tonight because it’s one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. Pulled out my pieces for the swap on Thursday; can’t wait to see everyone and hopefully come home with some winning pieces!

Got a little dressed up for shopping on Saturday. It was warm and sunny, and made me forget about the snowy days lurking. The boots are from Forever21; after seeing them on Where Did U Get That, I had to have them. Yeah, they’re cheap and they kind of hurt. But look! So cute!

The Labor Day Blues

by a stylized hysteria on September 9, 2010

I can go weeks without speaking to some of my friends and it doesn’t phase me at all. But if I go more than three days without posting, I feel all guilty. Weird, right?

I unplugged from most of the world for labor day weekend and spent time with my parents. Highlights included:
- Watching The Little Mermaid with my bff (and singing along in my head)
- Getting to meet another friend’s baby, who is adorable and freakishly strong for someone who still has trouble holding his own head up
- Pizza and prosecco with my parents around a fire while their neighbor blasted Prince’s greatest hits

Sadly the weekend is over and I’m still struggling to get back into the routine and adjust to the shortening days and cooler weather. Also bought los gatos malos a scratching post and they refuse to acknowledge it. Jerks.

Here’s my last little bit of summer for you- a few outfit pics I took last week and before and never posted.
