And how was your weekend? Chloe kitten had a playdate. It did not bode well for her playmate that she is twice his size. It was amusing watching her bop him in the head every time he walked by her.

I went to a dance class on Saturday. Street Funk, thank you very much. I was next to this guy who was absolutely terrible new at dancing and it kept throwing me off. Does that happen to other people?

Actually, my vest is from a very rare and endangered animal called “polyester.” I’ve been aching for a fur vest for a while but never found one that was a decent price and looked good on me. And then Zara had a big sale :)

I was so excited to wear the vest that I left the house without even taking the tag off. whoops!

At the end of the night, no matter how much I intend to put everything away where it belongs, my jewelry always ends up in a pile in my living room.

But honestly, my second favorite part of any night out? That precise moment when my head hits the pillow and I shut my eyes. My favorite part of any night out, is of course, getting ready!

Looking at this outfit now, I think it would have looked better with a pair of brogues or something that reached below my ankle. Guess I need to go buy some brogue now, huh?

I bought my first dslr (Nikon D60) during the summer and I’ve really been getting into photography the past few months. Which has been fun, but also incredibly, incredibly frustrating. I am not a good photographer. I have no eye for composition, I have trouble understanding lighting, and I am not that creative.  And I find myself surrounded by friends and families who have a real natural ability.  Ugh.  It’s so frustrating. But I’m going to keep trying. Things came so easy to me as a child and teenager, that I am just now learning to appreciate the feeling of succeeding after trying and trying.

Lovely readers, do you have any general tips for a burgeoning photographer? Or book recommendations?

On the plus side, my rich plum lipstick suits the drab weather perfectly.

I do have one reason to smile- I finally got my hands on Lippmann’s Superstar nail polish. I stalked it for months and yes, it was worth the wait.

Please forgive my ragged cuticles.

The closest Chloe kitten comes to smiling. She usually just stares at me like she’s caught me doing something extremely naughty and she’s judging me like a minister’s wife.

When I first brought these Jeffrey Cambell booties home, I wasn’t sure exactly what I’d wear them with. I just knew they needed a home in my closet. Then I found this amazing Ann Demeulemeester top in my mother’s closet and knew exactly what I wanted to wear it with. My favorite skinny jeans, by Martin & Osa, completed the outfit.

I can’t wait to try this with leggings tucked into the boots and a crapload of punk-style jewelry.
