booty call chloe

I realized something this weekend. I am Chloe Cat’s booty call. See, before Calliope joined the household, Chloe was perfectly happy having all my attention. She’d be sitting on the couch waiting for me when I got home from work. She’d sleep next to me (or at least on the bed) all night. Now that she has to share me with Calliope, she’s gotten into a very unique method of getting my attention. During the day, she doesn’t care at all about me. I get home from work, she barely deigns to lift her head off of the bed. But when it’s 2 or 3am, I hear the most pathetic little meow and she jumps on my chest and purrs and snuggles and manages to get loads of affection from my half-asleep form. But when I wake up, she’s long gone. Now, is that not the perfect description of a classic booty call? I feel so used.

I wore this outfit on Saturday, walking around and window shopping with a friend. She was properly dressed for the weather (windy and cold) but I pulled the shirt out of my closet and was immediately inspired to try a Cherry Blossom Girl-esque outfit. I skipped heels, which would have been very Cherry Blossom Girl. After all, window shopping is an athletic endeavor. I have to say, I did feel very chic and sexy, despite wearing loose clothing. I had to include this picture of Calliope trying to give me a kiss. She’s a real gentlemen…lady…non-booty caller!

I wore this outfit Saturday night out with Becca of Free Honey and Marissa of The Well-Appointed Catwalk. We all laughed when we revealed that we had some dressing anxiety when it came to hanging out with other fashion bloggers. I will say, though, we were a very well-dressed bunch! I’m also proud to say that at one point I hustled them into the bathroom and demanded they try out the bright pink lipstick I brought. It looked great on them both. I love introducing my friends to things they haven’t tried out before. Another (2) ladies are no longer bright lipsticks virgins!

The skirt is another piece I got at the Swapaholics clothing swap. When I picked it up I assumed it would be too small, but the back is elasticized. Whew! It’s also very short, like way shorter that it looks in this picture. I rarely wear short skirts, and it was nice to do something a little different.

I wore this to work on Tuesday after spending the long weekend watching movies, sleeping, and generally being a lump. The pants are actually men’s pants that I got during the Swapaholics clothing swap a few weeks ago. When I first grabbed them, I had no idea they were men’s pants. And once I got home I thought “great, they’ll be super baggy, so it’ll be obvious that they’re men’s pants and I’ll be that wicked cool chick walking around in men’s pants.” Then I tried them on and they were not nearly as slouchy as I had hoped- except in the crotch where I lack the… equipment to fill all that room. I still really love them and I think they look pretty good.

Another casual weekend outfit. I was running around, getting some random items I needed and I decided to stop in to Filene’s Basement. Dude. They had a huge selection of designer pieces that I couldn’t resist rifling through. I was sort of amazed by the variety of designers and cool stuff they had. I also completely embarrassed myself by emitting a slightly erm… passionate moan when I found a pair of Haider Ackermann metallic printed leggings. Everyone in the vicinity quickly moved away from me. Whoops. Of course I couldn’t afford anything, even at Filene’s Basement prices. But it was great to try on some things and admire the beautiful fabrics.

Really didn’t plan for my whole outfit to consist of Gap and J.Crew!

Friday night tapas for a girlfriends birthday! I bought this dress at the end of spring from Ebay and have been waiting impatiently for the weather to cool down enough to wear it. Right before I left the house I realized I’d better put a skirt on underneath. Once I put on my jacket and bag, the side of my dress rode up and I was really happy to be wearing that skirt!
